Sacred Citadel ends up being a short footnote in the 2013 gaming landscape. It offers a decently crafted experience that unfortunately lacks anything of true interest to engage players for more than a playthrough.

Anyone with a PC (gamepad highly recommended), PS3, or Vita that appreciates modern games rooted in classic sensibilities should download this game as soon as possible and give it a try, even if it’s only to hear one of the best video game soundtracks of the past five years.

I can’t recommend Castlevania:Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate to die-hard fans. If you’re looking for something akin to the previous DS entries you’re going to be disappointed. However, strictly going as a third party action-platformer on the 3DS, it’s not a bad game. Within minutes of starting the demo it became one of my most anticipated games at the entire show.

I am incredibly excited for Metro: Last Light after getting time with it. It seems to have taken everything I enjoyed about Metro 2033 and added an extra layer of polish to smooth the rough edges of its predecessor for easier playability. If all of this comes together with a strong narrative, it could easily be one of the most talked about games from the first half of 2013.

The online card game market is highly competitive, and getting new entries all the time, but Duel of Champions has enough of a solid hook and a stable model that doesn’t promote a “pay to win” atmosphere.

Almost five years after its release, and lurking in the shadows of its multi-platform successor, the game still has a thriving player community who are willing to help guide new players and assist them in tackling the vicious bosses.
