Developer Magnetic Realms has just released their throwback science fiction/horror title Inescapable. Harkening back to the days of the Amiga, this one is in the vein of Flashback, Out of This World and other adventure side-scrollers. Continue reading
IndieGameStand is something the staff here at Splitkick are pretty excited about, and think you might be too if you’re looking to discover and support some great new games! Also, there is a sale going on right now to celebrate the launch of the store so you can take advantage of some extra deals until the end of the month. Continue reading
Lone Survivor is one of my favorite indie games of this generation. I espoused how much I loved the game last year. Now Jasper Byrne goes and drops the Director’s Cut on us. Continue reading
The game is presented in a bold, bright cel-shaded style that fits it perfectly, and both the controls and physics are incredibly tight, as they must be in a title like this. If you’re a fan of physics puzzlers, you owe it to yourself to check out Lost Marbles demo and give them an upvote on Steam Greenlight. Continue reading
Crisp graphics and a great soundtrack made this title a standout. Be warned, Jungle Rumble isn’t a mindless screen-thumper. It requires quick reaction times and the ability to always be thinking a few steps ahead of your computer opponents.
Props should also be given to the map screen in between levels that pays homage to classics like Ghosts n’ Goblins and Wizards & Warriors. “Blood Alloy is a 2D, sci-fi urban Metroidvania that stars a young female amnesiac who regains consciousness in a lab and discovers that she’s been forcibly converted into a cyborg – and that just about everything and everyone she encounters wants to kill her.” Continue reading
As community manager, sometimes you need to make important decisions. This is one of those.
Each Monday will now be dubbed “Team Fortress 2 Night”. TF2 has overwhelmingly been the popular choice for game night among our community, so we’ll work towards having that each week to build it up.
Legend of Epikouros is an entry into a Ludum Dare competition that plays a bit like a stripped down Legend of Zelda. The twist is that each player only gets ten seconds to control the hero Epikouros on his quest. This creates a singular timeline that will presumably end, finishing the only play through of the game in existence. Continue reading
Steamworld Dig is easily one of the best games available on the eShop. It’s a high quality game that has more polish and heart than a lot of full-priced retail releases. Continue reading
