Rocket Jump: 046 – Todd is Good at a Game

26 April 2012 by Jim Hunter

This week we learn something that we never thought would transpire: Todd Fuller is good at a game. In fact, he’s probably the best Trials Evolution player on Splitkick… for now. We talk a lot about Trials, Fez, and how kids are little petri dishes. Does the Nyquil Jim took before the show effect it at all? Find out by listening.

Speaking of games where you come back in the sequel to fight/kill the main character of the previous game (Prototype, Zone of the Enders 2), how could I forget the best of the bunch:

Such an amazing game series. I loved the time travel plot. Also of note, I just started playing some Darksiders recently ($10), and at least early on it plays *very* similarly. Not sure why people were classifying it as “zelda” instead of “soul reaver”.

I haven’t listened to the whole show yet… but man I hope I don’t ramble or trail off too much. I barely remember the conversation.

At minute 47, we got married. Aaron did the ceremony. I’m wearing your ring.

I got Darksiders for cheap a few months ago too. I played maybe 2 hours total. It’s not bad. But it’s in my “Games I got for cheap and played for a little while but haven’t touched since” pile. That also includes Enslaved and Vanquish.

Great show so far. To be honest, I’m kicking myself for never clicking on the Lore button, because I assumed it would just be a massive text box. Also didn’t realize the beta went longer than that weekend. May give it another look when I can pull myself away from The Witcher 2.

Please to be playing Enslaved, or else your ‘superfan’ status could be revoked.

I second the Enslaved recommendation. Not the greatest game but the art direction and music really won me over. Bonus: one of my all-time favorite endings if you can make it through the weak final third.

I loved the ending, but ya, those scorpion fights were LAME.

Wait wait wait! In my defense, the only reason I stopped playing is because the fast, loose camera made my motion sickness act up. It’s really annoying. It’s the reason I never finished Fallout 3. :( I have to be careful playing Arkham Asylum too. With the default camera so close behind Batman, if I move around too fast indoors it makes me dizzy and nauseous. Double :(
