You are Sgt. James Heller, a soldier left to die, distraught husband to a deceased wife and father to a dead son. You are infected. There is one thing left to do — hunt down and kill Alex Mercer. Wield the unbelievable Tendril power that allows you to lift and tear apart cars and military vehicles, ensnare powerful infected beasts and shred groups of enemies to pieces. Track down your enemies by emitting sonar pulses from your body. Choose from a wide variety of new Mutation perks, including better locomotion abilities, sharper claws and enhanced disguise abilities, to build and customize the ultimate Prototype. The virus has left the city in ruins, but it’s not going to stop you from achieving your goal. Unleash the true power of infection raging within you and kill Alex Mercer. I finished Prototype before I ever began (and fell in love with) inFamous. Alex Mercer was a pretty awesome anti-hero / villain, but it’s kind of a bummer that the new character seems like such a douche. Especially after hearing what Aaron had to say about it on RJ this week. Ben DanielsQuote

I really enjoyed this game but it failed to live up to some of my expectations. Although i understand that Alex was to be the bad guy I didnt like how they removed all emotion and humanity from him, he was a character we felt for in the original and now we are supposed to just completely hate him? I think they should have given him a more emotional reason for his actions in Prototype 2 because the best villains are the ones we feel we can understand or relate to and all of those redeeming qualities were stripped from him. I also would have liked to see more of Alex during the actual game, possibly in free roam as an enemy you randomly encounter and fight here and there. It could have worked, you just find him, fight him, and then he runs off and possibly leaves a powerup or mutation. My final issue with this game was the final fight. It was pretty easy and not very dramatic when you consider they spent the entire game building up to the last confrontation between Heller and Mercer. Instead of going at eachother with the full extent of eachothers powers, you are constricted to one rooftop that you cant leave and its simply a matter of block and counter the entire fight. This ended up being longer than I intended but sometimes when I get going I find it hard to stop. Final thought, why did Heller only have one devastator attack where as Mercer had 6 I believe?
