This week it’s another two man show as Ben and Jim talk about Maldita Castilla, Fire Emblem: Awakening, getting racially profiled while trading in games at Best Buy, and how the robots in Binary Domain don’t know they are robots! Also, THQ is dead. [See the full post at: http://splitkick.com/rocket-jump-082-racial-profiling/] Jim HunterQuote

Am I a bad person because I don’t like Binary Domain? I see so much love for it on the internet, but it did not resonate with me at all. After beating it, I just felt like it was a mediocre Gears of War with some really janky pats throughout, and the story didn’t do anything for me. The saving grace of Binary Domain is the robot, but I won’t spoil it for you Jim if you haven’t gotten there yet. As someone who hated Journey, I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m just in the minority. Wouldn’t be the first time While on the subject of Japanese third person shooters, everyone should check out Vanquish if they haven’t already. Rocket legs = win. Jett LandichoQuote

Augh, the mouth-noises. Chewing, smacking, talking-with-your-mouth-full mouth-noises. Too much. It’s too much for me. .@Jett – Vanquish is the best pure third person shooter out there. Fantastic. Mason WorrellQuote

Sorry Mason, I actually muted my mic for a good portion of the episode. I’ll stop eating Kit Kats and drinking beer while podcasting, even though I personally find it hilarious. Concerning Vanquish, I loved it, but I saw a lot of hate for it on the internet. Then again, I got it for $15 in the bargain bin, so I felt it was totally worth more than that. Maybe I’d have felt differently if I spent $60 on it. Ben DanielsQuote

I think my mic was mispositioned too so it was picking up a lot more breath sounds than normal. We’ll do better next time Mason! Jim HunterQuote

Eh, the mouth-noises are a personal weirdness for me. I can’t eat with headphones on because my own chewing sounds cause me to cringe. It possibly doesn’t bother other people, I’m just crazy. Something about the squishy/smacking sounds makes me feel gross. ~shrug~ Breathing noises aren’t what bug meh. @Ben – Vanquish is totally worth 45-50 bones. 60 miiight be pushing it, but I’d've willingly paid 60. I actually paid 35ish, if I remember correctly. Mason WorrellQuote

I am PSYCHED for Crysis 3. Also Ben, with Metro 2033 that engine is BRUTAL. I’d try maxing it out with the DX9 renderer. The DX11 side is not optimized very well at all. Very few single GPU systems can run that completely maxed out. Same with Crysis 1 (still). David HughesQuote
