It’s been 6 months since Dubai was wiped off the map by a cataclysmic sandstorm. Thousands of lives were lost, including those of American soldiers sent to evacuate the city. Today, the city lies buried under sand, the world’s most opulent ruin. Now, a mysterious radio signal is picked-up from Dubai, and a Delta Recon Team is sent to infiltrate the city. Their mission is simple: Locate survivors and radio for Evac. What they find is a city in the grip of war. To save Dubai, they’ll have to find the man at the heart of its madness—Col. John Konrad. Played the first three chapters last night. The gameplay is classic Gears-inspired shootery but Yager does a couple nice things. I like that finally shooters are going back to selectable fire modes with weapons, flipping turrets around is nice, but mostly I love that enemies aren’t bullet sponges. While it’s not super impressive technically, the art direction is strong. Dubai is a very colorful place despite the sand, so the chest-high walls at least look interesting Excited to get further in the game so I can get to the really good parts! David HughesQuote

I didn’t want to dwell on specific mechanics in the review, but I did enjoy the fact that ammo wasn’t super plentiful. I ran out often, which forced me to pick my shots better. Jim HunterQuote

Yeah, I haven’t completely run out yet but I knew going in to be extra cautious with ammunition. With the sheer number of guns enemies use, you’re constantly guessing which gun is the best for the situation AND will get the most ammo drops. Love it! David HughesQuote

Obviously I don’t want to spoil things in this thread. I just now did the first choice and got past “The Gate”. Damn! David HughesQuote

Here’s a bump to a game I recently played and really enjoyed. If you haven’t picked it up yet, you should, and it’s been on sale for $20 or $25 twice on Amazon. The Amazon digital copy comes with a Steam code, for those that interests. Or play it on consoles. It’s a pretty short game, and you could beat it in a long weekend, so it deserves being bumped to the top of your queue. I did and haven’t regretted it. I just wish I had posted this at the start of *this* holiday weekend. Get to it. Aaron PhokalQuote

At some point I am going to pick this one up, I am really interested in the story aspect of the game. And I don’t mind cover based shooters too much either. xXJayeDuBXxQuote
