XCOM: Enemy Unknown will place you in control of a secret paramilitary organization called XCOM. As the XCOM commander, you will defend against a terrifying global alien invasion by managing resources, advancing technologies, and overseeing combat strategies and individual unit tactics. The original XCOM is widely regarded as one of the best games ever made and has now been re-imagined by the strategy experts at Firaxis Games. XCOM: Enemy Unknown will expand on that legacy with an entirely new invasion story, enemies and technologies to fight aliens and defend Earth. I’ve never played an XCOM game either. Turn-based strategy has never been my favorite. And I’m still waiting for the right game to fix that. JJQuote

It’s pretty good so far. A very tense experience with a lot more story building than your typical strategy game (even the ones with campaigns). I’ve been playing Ironman mode so far (no reloads, choices and deaths are permanent) which makes every soldier’s death really mean something. Since I’m usually very “Zerg”-like in strategy games this has been a hard learning experience. David HughesQuote

PC folks: how are you liking the interface? It feels better to me with a controller, but I still want to hunch at my desk versus play via Big Picture. This isn’t helped by the lack of on-screen keyboard support when editing character names. David HughesQuote

Just wanted to add…that while im playing on normal, ironman – I thought this game was going to be pretty easy, if your like strategy games, you can easy beat the turnbased squad levels in the beginning… PeterQuote
