Rocket Jump: 061 – Toilet Hell

16 August 2012 by Jim Hunter

This week’s episode is hotter than Dallas toilet water! We discuss hot new sequel Darksiders 2, and the new Mann versus Machine co-op for TF2. Speaking of Team Fortress, we re-cap last week’s community game night, and talk about our feelings of the TF2 team in Hero Academy PC. We’re also playing some betas that are so hot, we can’t even tell you about them!

I wanted to give everyone a Darksiders II tip that helped me. If you get lost or confused there is a raven that is highlighted green that is flying around, giving you clues and you may not have even realized it. I didn’t at least. the raven is named Dust and you can actually interact with it by pushing the left analog stick down. That will cause Dust to fly towards the next goal. Dust will help with doors, levers and other puzzles. I got this information from an article written by Brenna Hillier at vg247.com.

I kept seeing the bird but had no idea what it was doing or how to interact with it and the initial tutorial was no help. And no, this was not like my interaction with the horse Despair that magically appears and disappears with the push of the left and right bumpers.

Yes, I got beat in like my 3rd match ever. Thanks for calling me out on the show. Now play your turn so I can stab you in the back with my Spy. :)

A little late, but I agree that Alpha Centauri was the best Civ game. It wasn’t just the better defined factions. It was researching cool future technologies that actually had basis in real science and special projects (wonders) that had sweet movies to go along with them. It was my first civ game and when CivIII came out and I had to “research” the wheel, well I was pretty disappointed.

Civ2 was my first Civ. AlphaC felt like a big upgrade, and as I mentioned: I love the faction leaders and their distinct personalities. It had a great impact on play style and how you handled AI factions that was immediately discernible. I haven’t felt it in a Civ game since…
