This week’s RJ podcast has three main points it wants to get across. 1. Aliens: Colonial Marines is a bad game. 2. We like making wild speculations about what the PS4 is capable of. 3. We’re going to PAX East….with alcohol.

I played Injustice at Fan Expo last year and really liked what I tried. Felt like a good step forward from the Mortal Kombat 9 mechanics. Looking forward to picking this one.

Nice. Jett’s positive impressions make this even more interesting.

The only unknown for me is if it’ll have that awesome lobby system from MK9. Regardless of netcode, the idea of spectating and clapping with an avatar was kinda fun. Not to mention, really easy to invite friends into (I’m looking at you MvC3!)

To MK9′s credit, NetherRealm put in a lot of work to make it worthy of competitive play. It does not draw the same size of crowds at tournaments as Street Fighter or Marvel, but there’s a good sized community that takes that game very seriously because it mechanically holds up for the most part.

It never became my main game, but I really enjoyed my time with it and could see all the depth that it offered. Pretty much all of the past MK games don’t hold up in a tournament environment, but MK9 does.

Playing Injustice felt like it had the same foundation as MK9, with some cool new tricks up its sleeve. I have high hopes that this one can also withstand the competitive play test while offering a similarly low barrier of entry and flashy fun that MK9 did.

This. Is. Great.

I hope Robin is in the game. He almost has to be at this point. Maybe Nightwing will suffice…
